Role Purpose:
To ensure, in conjunction with the CFO, that management and statutory accounts, reports & reconciliations are produced to agreed deadlines, accounting standards and company policies and procedures. To ensure compliance with all relevant laws and reporting regulations.
Skills and Experience (Minimum Requirements)
- Completed SAICA Articles at big 4 audit firm
- CA (SA) qualification
- Strong grasp of IFRS, VAT and Income Tax legislation
- Technical understanding of hedging products and mechanisms
- Experience in a finance or auditing role
- Prior experience in managing a team essential
- Relevant computer skills including e-mail, Microsoft Office, accounting software
- Keyloop Drive AI experience advantageous
- Experience working with banks, insurance, SARS and external service providers
- Ability to work under pressure and deadline driven
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Self-starter and self-motivated
- Fluent in English for report writing and presentations
- Ability to work in a team

Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting and Budgeting
- Prepare and execute monthly reporting for management accounts purposes
- Prepare variance analysis against prior period, budget and forecast to distribute to senior management
- Prepare monthly Exco or Board schedules for inclusion in the Exco or Board pack
- Perform and review maintenance contract profitability analysis
- To prepare annual financial statements and to ensure that all statutory and year-end schedules are prepared, maintained and produced on time.
- Review and distribute the weekly cash flow forecast to senior management.
- Prepare Income tax and VAT returns for the entity and any other tax returns/information as and when required
- Oversee Fixed Asset Register management and monthly reconciliation.
- Monitor capex process to ensure all capex is adequately approved
- To verify local creditor payments on the bank to ensure that the correct amount, banking details and creditor is being paid
- Oversee local and foreign creditors’ functions
- To prepare and check the GP’s on the “Daily Aftermarket Turnover & GP” figures daily and distribute to management.
- To assist the CFO by producing General Ledger reconciliations monthly and following up on reconciling items.
- Handling of all insurance claims and paperwork obtaining the correct claim, authorisation etc, and follow up on receipt of claims.
- Ensure Implementation and maintenance of effective internal policies and procedures to mitigate the risk of financial fraud and protect company assets
- Initiating, conducting and monitoring ongoing business performance/improvement, operational excellence projects and interventions in line with contract profitability analyses
- As and when requested to assist CFO in preparing monthly and quarterly forecasts and annual budgets.
- Collaborate with departments’ managers on the annual business plan.
Procurement and Supply Chain
- Ensure suppliers on the approved database are compliant with Masslift Africa’s Supplier Policy
- Ensure that suppliers have the relevant B-BBEE credentials as per set Procurement Spend Targets
- Oversee the compilation of required evidence for B-BBEE audit
- Ensure sustainable measures put in place for ongoing B-BBEE rating
Stakeholder Engagement
- Play a key role in building successful collaborations with internal and external stakeholders
- Act as trusted advisor to Chief Financial Officer
- Undertake regular interactions with shareholders and Board as required
Corporate governance, compliance and audits
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and reporting regulations
- Assume responsibility for the effective management of internal and external audits of Masslift Africa, effective management of audit and review findings, and ensure these are cleared with the appropriate additional internal controls within the agreed time frames
- To ensure that the company’s hedging policies with regards to forward cover on foreign exchange contracts are adhered to
